HAPYD stands for
HIV/AIDS Awareness Project and Youth Development. This organization was
established in 2000 at Jabulani, Soweto. It caters for orphaned children whose
parents died mainly of HIV and AIDS. HAPYD is a registered Non-Profit
Organization (NPO).
The organization has
rooms built inside a church's premises in Jabulani.
Below are the services
that HAPYD offers to children in its care:
1. Food: - Dinner
during school days
- Lunch and dinner on holidays
2. Clothes (including
school uniforms) and Stationery: Priority is based on the level of need.
HAPYD still wishes to
also provide some recreational trips for the children to visit places like zoos
and theme parks.
The organizations needs
more funding support to buy enough uniforms and stationery, and to cover
trips/excursions for entertainment away the premises.
HAPYD also supports
other children who are not orphans, especially the needy ones, within the
community, as it is does want to isolate children on the basis of socioeconomic
status. As a result, the total number of children catered for by the
organization is 300.
We request anyone who
wishes to contribute towards HAPYD's goal of buying uniforms and stationery and
paying for trips aimed at entertaining the children to please contact

hapyd plays a paramount role in jabulani. not even jabulani even the entire south western township . hapyd accumulates childrend from the street , sanctuaries and unsafe places. its attenpts to poverty alleviates.
